The duty you feel when you’re in control |
There are many who questioned my involvement in all this. Why did I become the Emperor’s seer? Why did the young Yame become what he became? Those outside it all think that it is simple. That actions can be undone. That choices made are always simple. It is not like that. It is always very difficult. If you are awake and I mean you’re not a sheep going through life with its eyes shut waiting for the inevitable moment of slaughter, then you understand that we’re like sparks of fire travelling in a stream. We are aware of everything around us and can, at times, make the jump, put in the effort required that will take us a little further away into another current and the journey will go in but in a new direction.
We are all caught up in these streams. We have no control over where they really go or what they do. But we can choose to either do something or do nothing. That is the terrible duty you feel when you are in control over your own actions. When your eyes are open. You see things you don’t want to. You make decisions hoping they’re the right ones. |
